Booth called her a real woman! And told her to stay close to him in the prison! I loved that opening. “Woah, stay close, okay? A lot of these animals haven’t seen a real woman since Regan was president.” Booth, and then he hugged her to him the rest of the walk!

And oh how worried was our Booth for his Bones? Instantly he was concerned about her with Epps.
“You’re not safe either” – Booth was worried about Bones.
“You’re everything he hates” – Booth to Bones
“You’re a smart strong confident woman.” And the way he said it? Then “So you’re not to go out on your own, ever.”
And that look!

Booth: “Where the hell did you get that?”
Bones: “The mall.”
Booth: “The mall?
Bones: “Yeah. It’s pretty big. Right? Bigger than the one you have?”
Booth: “Excuse me. It’s not the size that matters. It’s how you use it.”
Bones: “Well I think size is pretty important.”
Booth: “The point is: that you shouldn’t have a gun in the first place.”
Angela: “If you do have one, bigger is always better.”
Booth: “You’re not helping.”
Angela: “Right yeah. This does seem like a private conversation.”
Booth: “Yeah, private. Okay, if people see you with that, everyone in this place is going to start packing.”
Bones: “This is America. Get used to it.”

“Everything that happens from here on in is your fault” Epps to Brennan, and the angst that she was put through after that. Knowing Angela was so upset by the heart. Etc.

And when they went to the ex wife’s place …. She pulled her gun out! And Booth was soooo not comfortable with Brennan having a gun. And how protective, yet again, he was when they went to look in the fridge.

And Booth repeatedly was assuring Bones that it was not her fault. It’s all Epps. It’s why her was going to take him down. All for Bones. “I don’t care how big your gun is, alright?” He had two agents on her tail, all for her! Gah he loves his Bones.

And then Brennan helps Booth look for Parker when he is momentarily MIA at the park. And I swear she was trying to reassure Booth there, when he was getting upset with Parker. Did you all see how torn Brennan was, knowing Epps said it was her fault.

“Considering the relationship between you and Cam, I’d like to say the right thing Booth, but I don’t know what it is. Usually I’d ask you or Angela.” Bones to Booth, and the angst in her voice.
“You just said it. Thanks.” Booth

Poor Booth, and the angst he was feeling for Cam and her being put in the hospital because he rushed the job.

And I loved Brennan taking control of the conversation with Epps, and playing him. I love how strong a woman she is! And then Booth was proud of Bones making Epps sweat.

“Bones, I’m coming with you alright.” Gah, the angst in Bones eyes as he told Cam bye, but he came with her! Came with Bones.

And AGAIN when he arrived at the scene with Bones, to Caroline’s body, he made good ole Bones stay back. He’s ALL about protecting her. If there is a theme for me in this eppy, it’s angst and Booth’s need to protect his Bones.
“I want to help.”
“Out. Now!”
And how cute was it that he stayed behind with Zach to help “save” him in that explosion. And loved that news cast, stating Zach was dead and Booth in critical condition. “Did you have to be so rough on him?” “I was being heroic.” And the looks Booth and Brennan were sharing. He was SO trying to protect her.

“I’m going to go see Cam at the hospital, and you’re going to go home and get some sleep.” Booth to Bones. He’s worried about her and tells her she should get some sleep! There is a team of agents outside her house to protect her!

And Booth, all by himself, figured out that Epps was after Brennan at her apartment, by the “plaster dust” and her comment on the renovations. And Booth came to her apartment, sent the guys to the apartment next door. And good ole Bones had already figured it out. Both of them had their guns on him! I just LOVED how Booth and Brennan knew the same info and figured it out together.

And Bones was trying to help Booth save Epps. “Going after Dr Brennan. Your son” Epps threatened the two most important people. And did you see the way Brennan tried to hold Booth?

Bones showed up at the playground where Parker played to check on Booth!
“Hi. How did you know I was here?”
“Saturday morning.”

“It’s you all over. Putting things right. Cam’s gets released form the hospital today.” Bones
“Yeah.” Booth
“What?” Bones
“You know what happened to Cam happened because we had a personal relationship.” Booth
“Had?” Bones
“Yeah. People who work in high risk situations can’t be involved romantically because it leads to things like what happened.” Booth
“High risk situations?” Brennan
“Every single day it’s with us. There’s this line and we can’t cross it. You know what I’m saying.” Booth
“Yes. I understand.” Brennan

HAD? HAD? As in Booth broke up with Cam, at her weakest, in the hospital, and it's all about protection, and making things right? And the WHOLE them of this eppy was about proteciton of Brennan and his need to keep her safe, etc. Oh gawd, I could NEVER have imagined his ending his relationship with Cam ANY better than this.

“He seems okay now.” About Parker, to Booth
“Yeah it’s import to make things right. We just don’t know how.” Booth

And that was an AMAZING episode. Period.
